Advertising Properties

 

Properties are advertised each week from Thursday, in the following ways:

  • Via Property Search on this website.
  • In a newsletter available from the Customer Service Points, and libraries.
  • On display boards in the Councils Customer Service Points and on some parish council notice boards.


The adverts tell you about the landlord, location, size, rent and other features of the properties to help you decide which are right for you.

Where available a photograph of the property or a similar house type is provided and you can access information about the local area and facilities.

The advert also tells you if there are any special requirements that the applicant must meet, such as age requirements and whether preference will be given to people with a local connection to that area.

 

A range of symbols are used to tell you about the property.
 

   


The number of bedrooms in the property
 

 
The property advertised is designated as sheltered housing, for applicants aged 55 years or over.
   
The minimum or maximum age that an applicant must be to apply for the property (age restriction will be displayed within the icon when viewed on the Property Search or the Newsletter)
 

 
The property has a garden

 

 


Off road parking is available at the property

 

 


The property is offered with preference given to local applicants

 

 

 

This is a Registered Providers (Housing Association) property. The landlords name will be detailed in the property advert.

  

 

 

These properties are available on a first come first served basis, there is no need to place a bid, just contact us to express your interest. Applying for a property

To apply for a property you must tell us that you want to be considered for it. You may only apply for a property that is suitable for your family size.

You can express your interest or bid, as it is also known, in one of the following ways:

  • Online through our website.
  • By telephoning our 24hr automated bidding line on 0300 777 1370
  • On the mobile site

 

Properties available to rent are advertised for 6 days, the advertising cylce for a property can start on any day, it is therefore important that you check the website for new vacancies on a regualr basis.

You will only be able to bid for a property that is suitable for your family size.
